West-End Theatre experiences…
Did you know that the Dorking Halls (a few minutes walk from The White Horse) offers West End Theatre trips? They provide a coach service that takes you too and from Dorking to the sparkling doors of various West End shows? On Thursday 1st May, departing at 11.15am, the coach heads off to see the incredible show, Starlight Express at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. If you’re a fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber, this is one for you. ‘Audiences will be immersed inside a world of speed, song and storytelling as an incredible cast of 40 whizz around and above, performing some of musical theatre’s most beloved songs including AC/DC, Make Up My Heart, Light at the End of the Tunnel and the iconic Starlight Express’. If you don’t already know the song ‘Starlight Express’, you are guaranteed to be singing (or at least humming the tune) all the way home! Or maybe a day trip to Chichester Festival Theatre will take your fancy as Irving Berlin’s Top Hat is top of the theatre schedule on Thursday 14th August. ‘You’re invited to the musical equivalent of a finest vintage champagne. Effervescent, elegant and exhilarating, Top Hat is a heady romantic cocktail laced with sparklingly witty dialogue, stunning choreography, lavish sets and gorgeous costumes. Irving Berlin’s irresistible score includes some of Hollywood’s greatest songs, the immortal Cheek to Cheek, Let’s Face the Music and Dance, Top Hat White Tie and Tails and Puttin’ on the Ritz.’
Sit back and enjoy these matinee performances and the best bit of it all, you’ll be home back in time for supper!
