During your time with us at The White Horse, keep the little ones entertained when you’re out and about in delightful Dorking with our top tips of where to make the best of memories with your little ones…

• Playgrounds – knowing how much kids love a playground, we have a top tip for one of the most lovely playgrounds that is only a moments walk from The White Horse. Turn right down the high street and head to Meadowbank Park which is located behind St Martin’s Walk shopping centre. Behind the shopping centre is the outdoor play area that has lots to see and learn about the local area too. A great space to let the kids run wild for some time before tucking into some hearty food back at the pub! 

• Stepping Stones trail – visiting Box Hill is a must trip when you visit us in Dorking – take in the beautiful views throughout the year, there is a cafe ‘The Box Hill Cafe’ a minute’s walk from the main National Trust car park at the top of the Hill. Park up, grab a coffee and head down to The Old Fort view point. Children love to walk down the hills (or maybe roll down – so much more fun!) to head down to the Stepping Stones path. • Lovely lavender – take in the sights and smells of Mayfield lavender fields located only 12 miles away from The White Horse open June – August. Mayfield Lavender Farm is a 25-acre lavender farm with café and shop located in Banstead (Woodmansterne), Surrey. The lavender farm is a popular visitor attraction throughout summer where you can wander through a sea of beautiful organic lavender and witness bees enjoying themselves in the sunshine. During the peak of the season it can get very busy on weekends so we recommend that you plan a weekday visit if possible.
